CoR legislation states that all parties within a heavy vehicle transport supply chain—from consignor to consignee—have a legal duty to ensure the safety of their transport activities.
This means that anyone controlling or influencing heavy vehicle operations, including the mass of a vehicle or its load, must comply with the new HVNL.

Download (373KB)From 1 July 2016, new container weighing legislation comes into force which requires mandatory weighing of any container before it can be loaded onto a ship.
Although container weights have always had to be declared prior to shipping, under the forthcoming amendments to the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) convention, shippers will be breaking the law if containers are loaded which don’t have a verified container weight.
