Lauren Hipwood from AccuPak demonstrates how the Fortress Interceptor metal detector can be used to detect metal contaminants in fresh packaged foods, such as strawberries.

The Fortress Interceptor metal detector is renowned for its exceptional performance and ability to detect the smallest metal contaminants, including in difficult to detect (wet) products like fruit, meat & dairy.

In this demonstration, Lauren uses the metal detector to scan for 1mm diameter ferrous and non-ferrous and 2mm diameter stainless ball bearings inserted into a punnet of strawberries to show the Fortress Interceptor metal detector’s exceptional scanning sensitivity.

She then inserts a needle into a strawberry and places it back into the punnet with the needle facing in a number of positions relative to the metal detector’s scanning system to show that the Fortress Interceptor can detect the needle even when the tip of the needle is facing the scanner!

Fortress Technology’s Interceptor Metal Detector uses a simultaneous multi-frequency technology to clearly distinguish between the signal generated by the product from any metal contaminants, and so eliminates the potential of false rejects.
