AccuWeigh’s Victorian team were recently engaged by Zinfra, a leading national engineering, construction and maintenance service provider to the utility sector, to provide it with a truck scale that would enable it to meet its Chain of Responsibility mass management obligations.

The organisation, which has a rigorous Safety Management System and a fleet of over 100 heavy goods vehicles and vans, had identified that operators could inadvertently overload its trucks and so put both its drivers and the general public at risk of injury.

In response to customer requirements at their leased depot, AccuWeigh manufactured, delivered, installed and commissioned one its famous Low Profile Axle Low Profile Axle Weighers (LPAX) at the site. Specifically designed for weighing truck axle groups up to triaxles, the LPAX is a modular, lightweight, easily transportable and fully portable weighing device with a 30-tonne capacity.

LPAX weighers provide organisations with road transport supply chains a highly effective and relatively low-cost mass management control to meet CoR requirements.

In the interests of operational efficiency and economy, AccuWeigh supplied the company an unmanned Driver Control Station (DCS) that would alert drivers if an axle group was overload. The DCS enables drivers to: interact directly with the truck scale indicator without having to move from their seat; provides drivers tickets that verify that the GVM of their HGV is within legal limits; and is interfaced with our IT systems for auditing purposes.
