Statistics show that, on average, in an office of 20 people, such as with AccuWeigh’s SA branch at Port Adelaide, two or three personnel will be affected by anxiety and at least one will be affected by depression in this coming year alone!

Additionally, around nine personnel will be affected by mental health at some point in their lives, according to the SANE website.

There is still much research to be undertaken, not just in diagnostics but in effective treatments and education for both health professionals and those affected or at risk.

Motivated by this, AccuWeigh’s SA branch chose to donate $500 to support the work of the Society for Mental Health Research because their research covers everyone from children to the elderly, as well as all stages of mental illnesses from initial education and intervention to treatment.
