After confirming the success and reaping the benefits of a static checkweigher system AccuWeigh installed in 2015 a South Australian hay supplier has engaged AccuWeigh to supply a second static checkweigher system in their Balaclava hay processing plant.
The system uses our AccuWeigh Systec IT6000E Intelligent Digital Weight Terminal connected to our A500 pallet scale base to statically weigh hay bales as they are driven out of the processing plant and on to the weigher by the existing powered conveyor system.
The measured weight data is then exported to the onsite data collection system which uses the data to determine the most efficient way to fill shipping containers to their maximum capacity for export. This system helps our customer to comply with the requirements of the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) treaty that will require that all containers have a verified weight certificate before being loaded on to a ship.
Weighing is often the most effective way of ensuring safe loads prior to transport and AccuWeigh has a comprehensive range of weighing solutions available, whether it be static weighing, as with this project, or dynamic weighing for minimal stoppage time during product processing.
