AccuWeigh’s Adelaide branch has recently completed the supply and installation of a Weigh-In-Motion or WIM weighbridge for heavy-capacity, off-road mining trucks at a mine in South Australia. Using two super-sized and highly-engineered versions of our Drive&Weigh 8000E platforms in a common concrete foundation the project is capable of weighing mining trucks with axle group loads in excess of 80 tonnes.

“Using the same technology, we can deliver similar solutions for any size of off-highway trucks”, said AccuWeigh Regional Sales Manager, Jeremy Hembrough. Each application is engineer-designed to accommodate the specific criteria of the haul fleet. Our solution included a data collection and transmission software and data base, a high-quality solar power system with sufficient energy storage to enable 4-5 days of uninterrupted power supply along with a remote weight display to confirm measured masses and also display messages should the vehicle be outside of the speed range for accurate weighing.

There are a few companies that can supply weighing in-motion (WIM) systems but AccuWeigh’s Drive&Weigh WIM system is the leader of the pack and has an enviable reputation of performing at higher levels of accuracy and repeatability compared to other systems, provided it is used as designed. Our Drive&Weigh system is already being used by many national and multinational companies around Australia.

However, there are fewer companies, like AccuWeigh, that can provide custom weighing applications and highly-engineered solutions to meet demand weighing applications and site conditions. AccuWeigh is well-known in our industry for providing custom solutions and highly-automated solutions, such as with this example.
