AccuWeigh Queensland has just completed the commissioning of a 28m long, shallow-pit weighbridge for the Rockhampton Regional Council’s Waste Transfer Facility. Being a transfer tunnel weighbridge, refuse is loaded into waste transfer vehicles from above using a grabber arm.
Three, high-visibility weighbridge remote displays are strategically located on this site: one for the grabber arm operator and two others for the use of the vehicle drivers, depending on the length of the vehicle.
This weighbridge is dual range, meaning it weighs by 20kg increments up to 60t, but then changes to 50kg from 60t to 80t. Configuring the weighbridge for dual range ensures that the weighbridge is as accurate as possible at the lower weight ranges.

To allow the Rockhampton Regional Council to meet its workplace health and safety obligations, and to ensure the safety of the Waste Transfer Facility’s personnel, full-length, fully galvanised walkways were also supplied and fitted on both sides of the weighbridge to allow safe and easy access to the weighbridge, when needed.
