Work-related injury and disease cost Australian businesses $61.8 billion a year. Put another way, poor work health and safety costs $5,000 per worker each year and equates to 4.1 percent of Australia’s gross domestic product.

October is National Work Safe Month and is a time when we celebrate that Australia is one of the safest places in the world to work, but also a time when we all commit to building even safer workplaces.

AccuWeigh has a National Work Health and Safety (WHS) Committee, which includes a trained, qualified and committed representative from each one of our branches around Australia. The WHS Committee meets once a month for just this purpose: to build even safer workplaces.

AccuWeigh has long held the health, safety and welfare of its employees in high esteem and the WHS Committee continues that legacy.
