A perfect example of the variety of places and industries that utilise our services, AccuWeigh were engaged by the state Cemetery authority to complete the supply and installation of a new scale in the crematorium at their northern metropolitan cemetery. The crematorium had an existing floor scale in place, however new and heavier casket transportation trolleys and the need to weigh heavier caskets meant the existing scales were found wanting.
AccuWeigh custom built a longer and heavier capacity scale in our Queensland fabrication facility and installed this into the existing tiled concrete floor inside the crematorium with a stainless steel surround around the pit edges. The in-ground installation was performed by AccuWeigh’s in-house civils construction team and was done to remove trip hazards associated with weighing scales and their cables at ground level. The in-ground installation of the pit and the underfloor cable run was completed over a weekend to ensure no disruption to planned funeral services.
Our service staff team performed the installation of the scale into the pit the following day, along with installation of the A&D AD-4406 digital indicator plus on site calibration. The entire installation process was completed in 3 days without disruption and has exceeded the expectation of the customer, resulting in repeat orders for other facilities.
