As part of AccuWeigh’s “A Higher Cause” charity initiative, AccuWeigh Queensland has donated $500 to the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital Foundation. The Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital is a new major children’s hospital in Brisbane, opened in late 2014.

The hospital combined the Royal Children’s Hospital and the Mater Children’s Hospital together into one new facility. The main building consists of 12 levels, with 359 beds (288 serviced). The new facility represents the largest capital investment in children’s health services in Queensland state’s history.

Through this donation, AccuWeigh acknowledges the great work that this hospital is doing for seriously ill and injured children. Overall, AccuWeigh has donated over $40,000 to worthy charities since the inception of “A Higher Cause” back in late 2008. AccuWeigh’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Brenton Cunningham, recognises the need to make a contribution back to the community through a combination of volunteering labour, the running of special events, employing of less-privileged people, direct donations, and more.
